Where in the world did my vintage pattern go...Springfield,VA

I had to write about this one. I had a phone call the other day from a customer that had just purchased this cute maternity, Vintage Simplicity pattern # 5665. She was concerned that the pattern might be mailed to her old address and wanted to make sure I had the correct one. She told me that she had this pattern but it wasn't the right size. She further explained that she used this pattern and wore this dress when she was pregnant. She bought my pattern for her daughter-in-law, which was now pregnant. Too cute! Hope I'm that good of a mother-in-law when my time comes! The beautiful picture is at Lake Mercer in Springfield, Virginia, USA. My Favorite Pattern - "Come Fly the Friendly Skies...well...not really! "

Flying in the 60's was different than flying now. Then, things were more formal than today. The outfits were stylish, the food was definitely better, what am I saying, there was food, now there's not even peanuts because of allergy scares! People dressed up just to fly somewhere. Today, well. blue jeans, t-shirt, flip-flops, your ipod and you're good to go. Well, you could wear a dress sewn from this FAB 60's McCall's Pattern that would rival the dress worn by the lovely Stewardess above. I've always loved the 60's color-blocked dresses. When I listed this vintage McCall's Pattern # 2357 in my Etsy Store, sassybydesign, it reminded me of this photo that I saw the other day on Flickr. I know..it's not exactly the same dress but it's close. I know, I don't have the hat but still a FAB outfit! Click on the photo of the stewardess for more FAB photos from Will Kane's Photostream and on the pattern to see it in my store!

Where in the world did my vintage pattern go?

I thought I would start listing a pattern that I sold each day and an interesting picture to go along with it. As some of you know, our family homeschools. Part of our education is having a "Family Business" of selling vintage sewing patterns on Etsy and Ebay. I thought it would be a good geography lesson to mark the location of each of our customers, on our US map and our International Map. We have loved seeing where our vintage patterns end up! I thought you might enjoy it too! Here's the first of this "where in the world" series, Killiney, Ireland. This Kwik Sew Pattern # 350 from the 1970's was sold and mailed to this beautiful town of Killiney, Ireland.
